General Manager

Brendan has a vast background in national and international event management. His previous role before joining the Trust was Head of Operations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.
Prior to this Brendan has worked across World Cups in Rugby, Cricket and Football both here in New Zealand and abroad. He was also on the event delivery team for the first ever Queenstown International Marathon and helped design the course for the Hawke's Bay Marathon.
Born and bred in Taranaki, Brendan has called Hawke's Bay home since 2021 and is really enjoying everything that the Bay has to offer for him, his wife Steffi and 9-year-old twins Isabella and George. Brendan is a regular on the sideline of his kids' winter and summer sports, as well as an organiser of his kids' school fundraiser, the Peak Trail Blazer.
Aquatics Manager

Nate has been involved with the Trust since 2018, when operations were based out of a gym shed and a small Portacom. Playing a key role in the early development of the facility, he has been hands-on in establishing its day-to-day operations and later contributed to the planning and expansion of the new Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre. As Aquatics Manager, Nate now oversees its operations and growth to ensure success for the Trust and customer satisfaction of the community.
A qualified physiotherapist, Nate also owns and operates The Movement Co. – a physiotherapy clinic based onsite – alongside his wife, Hannah.
Nate is passionate about helping people move better, stay active, and reach their potential - whether they’re elite athletes, rehabilitation clients, or everyday members of the Hawke’s Bay community. Nate’s experience across all areas of the Trust gives him a unique understanding of its mission to improve health and wellbeing through sport and fitness.
Hostel Manager & Corporate Administrator

Kelly joined the trust when it was formed in 2016, playing a vital role in its growth from a small operation into one of Hawke’s Bay’s leading sport and fitness facilities.
With a background spanning HR, administration, and operations, she now manages the Trust’s 60-bed accommodation hostel, working closely with local businesses, schools, and sports teams to deliver a seamless and welcoming experience.
Originally from Wellington, Kelly has called Hawke’s Bay home for over 19 years. Her career includes time in London and New Zealand with American Express, where she developed her strong organisational and customer service skills. With two sport-mad kids, a passion for golf, and a seat on the board of Hawke’s Bay Cricket, Kelly values the way sport connects people and is proud of the Trust’s role in providing facilities that bring the community together.
Partnership Manager

Graeme brings more than 15 years of business development and strategic partnership experience across the sport, construction, and international events sectors. A lifelong advocate for youth sport and community health, Graeme has worked locally and internationally to drive funding streams, build impactful relationships, and grow brand ecosystems that benefit athletes and communities alike.
Originally from Hawke’s Bay, Graeme has led sales and marketing teams in Europe, launched businesses in Australasia, and most recently founded Athletic Bean - a community-focused coffee initiative that reinvests profits into grassroots sport. His diverse background includes leadership roles in new home builds, endurance event management, and commercial sponsorships for high-performance sport.
Graeme is focused on forging strong partnerships with local businesses, national sponsors, and funding bodies to support the long-term sustainability of the Trust and its mission to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the region.
Gym Manager

Originally a fitness coach at the Trust, Uriah now brings her extensive experience in the fitness industry to her role as Gym Manager. With a background in retail management and senior management positions across Hawke’s Bay gyms, she combines leadership, operational expertise, and a genuine passion for helping people achieve their health and fitness goals.
Alongside her professional fitness career, Uriah has spent the past four years supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with Down syndrome, ADHD, and neurological challenges, through inclusive fitness programmes. She also has a background in Health Sciences, studied through the Naturopathic College of New Zealand.
A dedicated CrossFit athlete and coach, Uriah thrives on functional fitness and continues to compete within the CrossFit community. As a mother of two, she is passionate about inspiring women and mothers to discover what their bodies are capable of through the Trust’s facilities.
Facilities Manager

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University, majoring in Valuation and Property Management, and brings a well-rounded professional background to his role as Facilities Manager. With over a decade of experience in vineyard management and as a contract grower in the viticulture industry, along with a previous career as a property valuer, Aaron combines property expertise with operational and plant management knowledge, underpinning his practical, hands-on approach.
In his role, Aaron oversees the operational performance and maintenance of all critical building services while managing key communications with local suppliers. His responsibilities include ensuring pool water quality, air management systems, and the aquatic plant room are maintained to the highest standards. Extending across multiple facilities, Aaron provides infrastructure oversight and asset management to support the Trust’s operations, prioritising customer safety and modern innovation.
As a parent of active sports kids who use the Trust’s facilities, Aaron understands firsthand the importance of delivering safe, high-quality, and future-focused spaces for the community.
Sport Performance & Development Manager

Since finishing his post graduate in Strength and Conditioning at Cardiff Metropolitan University Angus has worked across a number of different sports at all levels. These roles have included working with a number of different teams from Welsh Hockey to Bath Rugby as well as a number of individual athletes in athletics and Slopestyle Snowboarding. Each of these roles has presented their own unique challenges but they have all been hugely rewarding in their own way and will all be experiences Angus will cherish and try to develop from.
Since leaving Ireland Angus has loved working in performance sport and experiencing new cultures, but feels very at home since moving to New Zealand in 2019. He has always loved playing and watching all sports but his biggest passions outside of work would be playing golf and supporting Manchester United.
Marketing & Digital Design Lead

With a strong background in visual design and brand strategy, Jennica leads the marketing and design efforts at the Trust. Passionate about creative thinking and impactful storytelling, she specialises in shaping brand identity, delivering strategic marketing campaigns, and creating engaging content across digital platforms.
Jennica’s experience working with diverse brands, including those in construction, real estate, and creative agencies, has helped her develop expertise in social media strategy, advertising, event promotion, and marketing communications. Known for her positive and adaptable approach, she thrives under pressure and is committed to crafting memorable brand experiences that connect with the community.
Driven by a commitment to aligning the Trust’s values with its brand identity, Jennica focuses on showcasing the positive impact of sport, fitness, and community programmes across Hawke’s Bay through empowering storytelling.
EOTC Lead Coach

Chloe graduated from Waikato University after studying a Bachelor of Sport Health and Human Performance, majoring in Human Performance Science and Sport Development & Coaching. During her time there Chloe worked alongside the Premier Men's Rugby team where she gained a love for working with athletes.A Hawke’s Bay Local who grew up surrounded by sport and exercise with most of her years spent playing netball. Chloe is devoted to aiding athletes along their path to becoming the best they can be. She has a passion for hand-crafting her strength and conditioning knowledge to fit the individual needs of every person she works alongside.
